The 1838 Society

By making a planned gift to The Diocese of Florida Foundation, Inc., you will become a member of the 1838 Society, a group of faithful donors who have included the Foundation in their will or other estate plans. Society members receive many benefits and most important, as a member we are pleased to thank and recognize you for your generosity in helping to ensure the future vitality of our Diocesan ministries.

The 1838 Society is named for the year in which our Diocese was founded at St. John’s parish in Tallahassee. The Society is comprised of individuals who have chosen to support the Diocese through charitable bequests, life-income gifts and trusts. If you have already included the Diocese of Foundation in your plans, please let us know so we can recognize and thank you, and welcome you into the 1838 Society (requests for anonymity are respected).

Bishop’s Circle

The Bishop’s Circle is a group of the Diocese of Florida’s generous benefactors whose leadership support plays an important role in advancing the work of the Diocese. Members have access to receptions and luncheons with various program leadership, special invitations to selected Bishop’s Institute for Ministry and Leadership programs, and other gatherings throughout the year.

Leadership Giving
While gifts of any amount are most welcome and deeply appreciated, leadership giving is a wonderful way to help sustain the highest level of ministry programming within the Diocese. Members of the Bishop’s Circle provide annual gifts or pledge payments to the Foundation campaign, Procession—Unified In Mission, in the amount of $2,500 or more.

The Bishop Frank A. Juhan Society

The Bishop Frank A. Juhan Society, named for the fourth Bishop of Florida under whose episcopacy Camp Weed was created in 1924, has been established to recognize those who make a monthly recurring gift to the Diocese of Florida Foundation's campaign, Procession-Unified In Mission campaign, designating the Camp Weed Annual Fund, thereby providing consistent and sustainable support.

  •  10% discount on merchandise at Camp Weed's bookstore
  •  5% discount on room rates at the Cerveny Conference Center

The Bishop Edwin G. Weed Society

The Bishop Edwin G. Weed Society, named for the third Bishop of Florida and the namesake for the annual Diocesan summer camp for children since 1924, has been established to recognize those who make an annual contribution of $1000 or more to the Diocese of Florida Foundation, Inc. through its campaign, Procession-Unified in Mission, designating Camp Weed and Cerveny Conference Center's Endowed Fund or The Reverend Stanley A. Bullock Endowed Scholarship Fund.  This gift will be memorialized each year with an inscribed leaf on one of the "Trees of Thanksgiving," located in the Varn Dining Hall and in the Snell-McCarty Youth Pavilion.
